The College Biology class completed their last dissection for the year. They dissected mushrooms, four types of plants, grasshoppers, starfish, perch, and a pig.
The 7th graders have been learning about animal reproductive strategies in science class. Today, they presented their research of a MN animal by speed dating.

Be sure to check the NCE/UH Athletics Checklist document on the AD Website to make sure you're ready to go for the season. (If you've already played a sport this school year, all you need to do is register.)
An up-to-date athletics physical is required to participate in practices and contests.
Start Dates:
7-12 Track and Field- Monday, March 10th
7-12 Softball- Monday, March 10th
9-12 Baseball- Monday, March 10th (Arm conditioning)
7-8 Baseball- Monday, March 24th
(batting cages will be open in the mornings for all 7-12 players)
There WILL NOT be a spring sports meeting. Coaches will communicate team and school expectations to the players on the first day of practice.

Esports Week 8 Results:
The season concluded this week with several of our teams vying for chances at State. Owen secured victories in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Chess. Will earned a forfeit win in both SSBU and Mario Kart alongside Jacob. In Fortnite, the NCE Sigmas achieved a second-place finish in the match, securing a spot in the State Tournament. The NCE Sizables competed in the divisional tournament and finished second in our group, earning another opportunity to appear at State.
Congrats to all teams on a successful season and good luck to our State Qualified states in March.

Esports Week 7 Results:
NCE Bedbugs (Levi, Will) played a short-handed game and secured a victory.
NCE Sigmas (Austyn, Levi) earned 3 points; they are currently the 5th seed with one week remaining (top 6 make state), while NCE Forters (Mason, Kingston) also earned 3 points, moving them to 10th overall.
NCE Sizables (Ayden, Eli, Tanner, Titan) delivered a commanding performance, outscoring their opponent 50-3 in a 3-0 victory.
NCE 2Mario2Kart (Jacob, Will) achieved another victory in Mario Kart to round off the week.

Six of our talented senior high musicians performed solos at our Sub-Section Solo Contest on Monday. They prepared solos to perform in front of judges and received feedback and scores. Our students absolutely crushed it! We couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and dedication! Also a huge thank you to Danette Gwin for accompanying our students!

NCE Blitz (Owen Riepe) picks up a forfeit win this week in SSBU.
NCE Sigmas (Levi Wilebski, Austyn Wibbels) finished 7th this week in Fortnite, earning 7 points, while NCE Forters (Mason Syverson, Kingston Losh) finished 4th, earning 12 points.
NCE Sizables (Mason Syverson, Tanner Swanson, Titan Boman) bounced back this week with a 3-1 victory in Rocket League to improve to 5-1 on the season.
NCE 2Mario2Kart (Jacob Ruud, Will Woltjer) earned their first true victory of the season in Mario Kart to round off the week.
We are two weeks from the end of the regular season, and several teams are poised to make the State Tournament in March!
